Pay Equity Regulation
In August 2011, the Governor-General signed Regulations which required a number of employers in the Queensland SACS sector to pay staff in accordance with the Queensland Pay Equity Decision.
The purpose of the Regulations were to preserve the outcome that workers on SACS/CASH awards would have transitioned to the Queensland pay equity rates if Queensland had not referred its industrial relations powers to the Commonwealth. The making of the Regulations was promised by the Federal Government to both the ASU and the State Government at the time of referral.
QCOSS, NDS and Jobs Australia were funded by the Queensland Government to provide a project to assist employers affected by the Regulations, by providing industrial relations advice, information, updates, resources and tools.
